"Birth, Death and Marriage certificates are fine as long as the event was registered and
the records were not destroyed. While trying to authenicate the birth of a many-great grandmother, I could not find
any record of her birth.
Using C&DFHS resources, I was able to establish the year of her birth through the 1828 Census of New South Wales.
I now had authenicated my data.
Further use of the library at C&DFHS told me about the flooding of the Hawkesbury River from time to time and the loss
of many records. I now knew that to continue searching for the birth record would be to no avail.
I could now move on to the next step in my research." Researcher: Lorraine Santacatterina |
